CoreFactor is searching for an Information Management, Governance Specialist on a contact basis.
This position is hybrid and will requires the individual to be on site in the Mississauga Office 4 days per week.
The Opportunity:
The position of Information Management, Governance Specialist, is contract opportunity within the Information Solutions (IS) team. The assignment supports the strategic project to execute the legal spin-off a new organization. The work stream ensures the work groups’ collaboration spaces in Microsoft SharePoint/Teams and Shared Drives are structured and populated to enable core business processes while protecting data integrity. Primary responsibilities include working with team members from across the business to identify data requirements and assessing the file plan and permissions alignment with governance.
Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
Track data access and file migration requirements for functional teams across both organizations.
Conduct sensitive information assessments on data transfers and prepare executive approval briefings.
Design and create functional collaboration workspaces in SharePoint and Teams.
Assess and implement permission access changes for document repositories to enforce appropriate segregation controls.
Triage and manage support and incident requests within SLA targets; troubleshoot with IS teams.
Perform assessments on governance controls
Provide input into Change Management communication or learning materials.
Conduct knowledge transfer with Key Users or IS support team members.
Update technical and support documentation.
Prepare cutover plans and other go-live readiness tasks.
Actively participate in project team meetings and provide progress report inputs.
Provide Hypercare support.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What You’ll Bring:
A disciplined and structured approach to managing sustainable collaboration spaces which support the business’ operational needs with integrity.
Familiarity with data security and compliance practices to protect sensitive information (of any personal, financial, or competitive nature) and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Past experience with corporate divestitures would be beneficial.
Well organized, strong detail-orientation, good at prioritizing and troubleshooting.
Strong EQ and interpersonal skills, able to comfortably navigate all levels of the organization.
Highly collaborative with good communication skills.
Strong Excel skills, managing large tracking files.
Familiarity with basic Microsoft SharePoint and Teams administrative access (e.g. look up attributes and membership)
Post-secondary degree in computer technology, user experience or a related business field, or 7+ years relevant experience.
