What's the Opportunity?
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Oil & Gas Technical Training Advisor will be responsible for performing a review and assessment of the current Aecon Utilities training program for oil & gas pipeline construction and development of training content and tools to improve technical competency and support safety performance.
Contract Duration: 12 months
What You'll Do Here
Perform needs assessment for training gaps in existing program in collaboration with Field Operations and QA/OQ Team
Develop training materials, packages, and lesson plans that reflect the most current content of applicable standards, codes, Client specifications/procedures and manufacturer instructions; incorporate industry best practices and Lessons Learned through incident investigations, quality non-conformances, etc.
Engage Clients and internal Subject Matter Experts as required to ensure effective/efficient review of technical documentation to support operational integration
Identify innovative strategies for effective program implementation in classroom/shop settings and on-site construction environment to enhance comprehension, learning objectives
Assist Operator Qualification (OQ) Evaluator with updates and building remedial training plans for OQ Program
Mentor, coach and advise field personnel/trainers, yard management and the QA/OQ Team on technical processes
Conduct train-the trainer, training or awareness sessions as required.
What You Bring To The Team
Comprehensive knowledge of CSA Z662, CSA Z245.30 and Enbridge Gas (Ontario) processes and procedures
Minimum 5 years demonstrated field experience with gas main and service installation, including hands-on tool & small equipment operation
TSSA GPI and/or Gas Fitter certification an asset
Related diploma or certification in Adult Learning, Education or Training an asset
Experience with conducting needs assessments, identifying training gaps, curriculum development and instructional design
Demonstrated ability to provide training in both a classroom and field learning environment
Bilingualism in English and French an asset
Organized self-starter with effective communication (written/verbal), collaboration and presentation skills
Focused and results-oriented, with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, content creation software
Must have own transportation, valid G driver’s license and be available to travel to Aecon sites throughout Ontario as required.
