Description:
The Sunshine Village Daycare is a drop-in center licensed for up to 45 children aged 19 months to 6 years. The Daycare has an excellent reputation and is therefore a busy, fun and dynamic place to work. This position reports directly to the Daycare Supervisor. This position assists the Supervisor to oversee all day-to-day operations of the Daycare to ensure a safe, fun and constructive environment and our Daycare based Ski School Programs.
Essential Functions:
Assist the Supervisor to oversee all day-to-day operations of the Daycare and associated ski lesson programs.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Daycare and Tiny Tigers in the Supervisors absence.
Co-ordinate and supervise ski lessons in the 3–5-year-old program.
Helping to ensure that the Daycare facility is clean, neat and orderly at all times.
Engage with parents to ensure that first and last impressions are the very best.
Interact and engage with the children in a range of activities and educational experiences.
Help to ensure the Daycare and Tiny Tigers programs operate according to budget where revenues, labour costs and operating expenses are concerned.
Help train, coach and manage Daycare staff to ensure that they stay animated and engaged.
Help manage snow around the Daycare entrance, exterior, learning slope and the conveyor lift.
Help to ensure that financial and booking transactions are accurate, balanced and complete.
Ensure that the Daycare meets both governmental and company standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Requirements
The Successful Candidate must have a minimum 3 years related experience in addition to:
Holds a level three certification in Early Childhood Education.
Past experience working with 3 to 5 years old children in a childcare setting.
Proven experience managing a group of up to 10 Staff.
Infant First Aid.
Valid Ski Instructor Certification is an asset.
Additional Considerations
Employees must always be of a sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
This position is also in a high-altitude environment. An appropriate level of physical fitness is required.
Some required uniform pieces are provided. Candidates must be prepared and wear appropriate footwear, gloves, layers, etc. for the conditions of an indoor/outdoor role at a ski area.
This role is subject to all terms and conditions of the Sunshine Village Employee Handbook, Policy Manual, and the Alberta Employment Standards Code.
