Accounting Clerk

Based in Montréal, this role supports accounting operations and involves a variety of tasks related to accounts payable, billing, trust accounts, and compliance with internal and regulatory procedures.

They are bilingual in French and English, enabling them to efficiently manage billing, communications, and accounting operations in both languages. What is in it for you:
• Annual salary of $65.000 to $75.000.
• Permanent, full-time position (35 hours per week).

Responsibilities:
• Handle accounts payable: invoice entry, check issuance, and invoice reconciliation according to internal and client guidelines.
• Carry out accounts receivable tasks, including credit card billing and recording of received payments
• Perform post-disbursement operations.
• Manage trust accounts: deposit and disbursement of funds in accordance with Bar regulations.
• Prepare, review, and finalize draft invoices.
• Apply established accounting policies and procedures.
• Perform any other related tasks as needed.
What you will need to succeed:
• College diploma in accounting or equivalent training.
• 2+ years of relevant experience, particularly in accounts payable.
• Experience or ability to also handle accounts receivable and trust funds.
• Experience in a professional firm managing trust funds (an asset).
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, autonomy, and team spirit.
• Bilingual in French and English to ensure effective handling of billing, client correspondence, and trust account–related procedures in both languages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
