We are currently looking for Facility Manager to join our team of committed professionals. This full-time summer contract position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s John Island Camp location in Spanish, Ontario.
Under the leadership of the Camp Director, the Facility Manager is responsible for the cleaning program to ensure a safe, functional, clean and comfortable environment which is suitable for the delivery of camp programs. They are also responsible for the building and facility maintenance operation which includes the vehicles and watercrafts.
START DATE: May 5th, 2025
LOCATION: Spanish, ON
RATE OF PAY: $750.00 - $840.00 per week
Major Responsibilities
Conduct daily site inspections and audits and conduct basic maintenance of camp buildings and equipment
Maintain and monitor water systems, camp generator, composters, and fire protection systems
Provide training and support to staff and volunteers
Scheduling cleaning and maintenance of washrooms, showers, dining hall, maintenance shop and garbage removal in a timely manner
Ordering/Transporting of diesel, propane, and gasoline from the mainland to the island Monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies
Remain compliant with Health and Safety, OCA and CQRP standards that relate to facility and site operations
Adhere to the YMCA’s and John Island Camp policies, procedures and guidelines
Other duties as assigned by the Association
Qualifications
College diploma in a skilled trade is considered an asset
Experience working with mechanical repairs, boat operation, and basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical
Supervisory experience in the cleaning and maintenance department
Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
Certification for transportation of dangerous good transportation certificate for marine
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Basic knowledge in diesel generator, watercraft, and small engine operations
Strong interpersonal skills
Solid knowledge of appropriate health and safety standards and regulations
Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
