Unposting Date: 2025-08-27 11:59 PM Your role: The Manager, Product Design is accountable for supporting the development and growth of the product design practice within Digital Strategy & Products. This includes supporting the career development of Product Designers, recruiting and onboarding new staff members, and enabling the development of the practice to support the needs of CBC. This role will work closely with the Director of UX & Design, with the Sr. Manager, Product Design, Sr. Manager, UX Research, as well as other Product and Technical managers across the CBC and Radio-Canada, to expand professional development opportunities, standardize best practices, and support the development and maintenance of a digital design system. Success is measured through the continually improving quality, velocity, and capabilities of the design practice Qualifications: Applied Skills Deep understanding of multidisciplinary design processes and toolkits across content, product, and UX design. Notable experience managing successful UX design processes in complex businesses Ability to mix Lean UX and Design Thinking with Agile processes within an enterprise organization Confidence managing the work activities of designers and researchers to deliver digital products Communication Clearly articulates and understands how DesignOps work fits into a wider context Fosters a shared understanding across multiple teams by effectively identifying opportunities to find alignment Holds a communication style, privileges understanding and clarity over direction Leadership Proactively seeks and provides opportunities to improve and expand the team members’ practices and effectiveness Partners with design and product leaders in an advisory capacity, offering analysis and recommendations on design capacity Navigates complex situations with calmness and composure Mindset Empathetic, self-aware, and able to experience success when the team succeeds Passionate about inclusive design to ensure designers can create the best experiences for CBC’s audiences Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
