The Granite Club is looking for a full time Senior Accountant, who will be responsible for all financial aspects within and affecting the Divisions you are assigned. This includes developing and implementing processes and controls, monitoring operational expenditures, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, financial analysis, month-end closing and reconciliations, and financial administration required to support the appropriate Division. The Senior Accountant is to liaise with the Managers within their responsible departments as necessary to carry out their duties.

Primary Responsibilities
Financial Accounting and Management Reporting:
Ensure transactions are in compliance with financial policies and procedures and generally accepted accounting principles
Prepare required department journal entries including inventory adjustments, accruals, and other adjustments, as applicable.
Responsible for the maintenance and integrity of financial data, including the general ledger
Ensure the accuracy, existence, and completeness of financial records including investigating billings, coding’s, PO’s, invoices, and contractor payment procedures, if needed
Aid in satisfying external and internal audit requirements
Review and approve payments to vendors
Budgeting, Forecasting and Financial Analysis
Assist in the preparation and presentation of forecasts and the annual budget
Complete KPIs, Key Financial Metrics and any other necessary working papers as required and presentation decks for management
Complete variance analysis, Member spending analysis
Liaise with other departments on financials, operating processes, and take an active role in projects
Process Improvements
Propose recommendations for process improvements to support efficiency and effectiveness of day-to-day activities and strength internal controls
General and other:
Work collaboratively and support the Assistant Controller for all departments, if necessary
Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Perform ad-hoc analysis as required to support business initiatives across the Club
Ensure the best interests of the Club, its Members and Guests are being upheld at all times
Recognize and alert IT of system performance or information integrity problems
Attend meetings as required
Required Qualifications
University degree and has their CGA, CPA professional designation
Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT) knowledge and a proficiency in general accounting knowledge
Working experience in hospitality industry is an asset
Previous work with inventory counts required
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Strong organizational, planning, and information gathering skills
Attention to detail and accuracy of reporting/analysis is critical
Ability to prioritize and effectively execute tasks is crucial
