The selected candidate will be joining the maintenance team responsible for effective troubleshooting, repair, and the continuous improvement of plant processes through automation and the newest technology.

WHAT WE OFFER
$41.48/hour, plus afternoon and midnight shift premium
$46.48/hour – Dual Trade (combination of millwright, electrician and/or tool & die maker)
1.5x ($62.22/hour) for work over 40 hours a week
2x ($82.96/hour) for work on Sundays/Stat holidays

THE POSITION
Two-week rotation – midnights, afternoons, days
Manufactures, modifies, or repairs tools with a variety of materials. Uses sketches, blueprints and models to plan for fabrication of consumables in hydroforming dies and CNC bender tooling.
Diagnose production related problems with tooling and liaises with the engineering staff to identify possible problems with tooling design and function.
Undertakes tool modifications within the department’s capability following consultations with engineering staff as necessary.
Actively participate in the development and achievement of team quality goals and objectives, continuous improvement ideas and projects, and environmental objectives and targets.
Support launches, and production demands as deemed necessary with overtime.
Comply with company policies and procedures supporting the quality management system, environmental management system, and health and safety.
Complete PM or work orders via the EAM computer software system.
Perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
WHAT YOU OFFER
Certificate of Qualification as Tool & Die Maker (430A), Mold Maker (431A), or Machinist (429A) recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
Certificate of Apprenticeship
3 to 5 years’ experience in an automotive environment.
Ability to work with a variety of tool room equipment such as milling machine, lathe, drill press, surface grinder, hand tools and layout equipment.
Experience in Mastercam
Experience with CNC Mills & Lathes
Strong mathematical skills
Knowledge in basic computer skills
Strong safety and quality awareness
Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
