English-to-French Translator
Seeking an experienced English-to-French translator for a senior-level, 1-year contract role in the insurance industry. Translate diverse content in a fast-paced, bilingual corporate setting. Responsibilities:
• Translate a wide range of documents related to property and casualty (P&C) insurance, including technical manuals, training materials, guidelines, job aids, newsletters, and software interfaces.
• Act as a linguistic resource, providing guidance and support to internal clients and fellow translators on a variety of topics.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that translations are accurate, clear, and aligned with business needs.
• Maintain and update translation memories and terminology databases.
• Manage assignments using the company’s translation project management system.
• Contribute to the improvement of linguistic tools and internal translation processes.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Linguistic Services project manager.
What you will need to succeed:
• Degree or diploma in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Certification or membership with a recognized professional association (e.g., OTTIAQ, ATIO) is an asset.
• 5+ years of professional translation experience, including in a structured corporate environment.
• Solid knowledge of the P&C insurance or broader financial services industry (strong asset).
• Bilingual to accurately translate English source content into French and to collaborate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders across both language groups.
• Excellent writing, grammar, and editing skills in both French and English.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Computer proficiency including the Microsoft Office suite, .xliff files, and experience with AI tools and e-learning platforms such as Elucidat and Articulate.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail, autonomy, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive mindset.
