Senior Solution Architect – Retail Banking & Azure
Opportunity for a Senior Solution Architect in the insurance industry with deep expertise in web and cloud-based applications, architecture governance, and digital transformation. Responsibilities:
• Design and develop solution architecture aligned with enterprise standards and best practices.
• Guide initiatives with a focus on scalability, security, and engineering excellence.
• Solve both functional and non-functional requirements through pragmatic solutions.
• Lead creation of architectural and technology roadmaps across products and technology stacks.
• Collaborate with product owners, analysts, engineers, and architecture peers across business units.
• Provide integration options for complex systems, anticipating technical dependencies.
• Communicate technical vision effectively, influencing stakeholders and providing thought leadership.
• Align architecture with enterprise governance practices and participate in Architecture Review Boards.
• Support proof of technology initiatives and contribute to ongoing product and process evolution.
• Balance multiple priorities, ensuring timely delivery of architecture work in Agile environments.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Certifications in software architecture (e.g., TOGAF, Certified SOA Architect) are considered an asset.
• 5+ years in a solution or enterprise architecture role.
• 5+ years of prior experience as a software engineer.
• Strong understanding of web and mobile applications, cloud architectures (preferably Azure), APIs, DevOps practices, automation, and both event- and batch-based systems.
• Experience in the banking, insurance, or technology services sector.
• Ability to align technical plans with business strategies and outcomes.
• Familiarity with architecture governance processes and Agile delivery environments.
• Domain expertise in at least one area such as Security, Data, Governance, or Cloud.
• Experience with digital transformation initiatives and technology strategy is preferred.
• Highly collaborative with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to influence, participate in reviews, and clearly articulate architectural direction.
