The Demand Planner is responsible for ensuring all client forecasting initiatives, specific but not limited to: activities, products, maintenances, modeling, etc., are formatted, and adhered to in a timely manner, incorporating all information gathered from the Clients, Sales and Marketing, and Customer Service teams. Reporting to the Supply Planning Manager, the Demand Planner will be an experienced Supply Chain professional within a make-to-order/engineer-to-order environment.
Key Accountabilities:
Input Client demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function
Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results
Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
Understand demand forecast drivers working with different teams internally and at client’s end.
Use and maintain the Demand Planning data in the ERP system as the primary forecasting system tool
Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs
Closely coordinate and communicate Client action plans with Sales, Customer Service and Supply Planning
Facilitate and manage semiannual Client forecast reviews and input revisions into the ERP and cascade the changes to the internal Cosmetica teams
Skills, Experience and Education Required:
Postsecondary education in Business, Supply Chain or other relevant fields and equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a demand planning / forecasting role within a manufacturing environment.
Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge - demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
Strong business acumen including the ability to provide business insight to multiple levels of management with appropriate level of detail.
Ability to multitask and to adapt to quickly changing priorities.
Proven track record of building strong relationships with cross functional stakeholders to align on common goals.
Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and listening.
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work individually as well as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint)
Strong understanding of ERP (Infor) systems running an MRP environment.
Strong organizational, decision making, facilitation and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process.
Nice to Have(s):
APICS, CPIM certification and/or working towards.
Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
Good Knowledge of MS Project, Smart Sheets, Tableu & PowerBI tools.
Experience with to S&OP/IBP/Demand Planning & related interaction.
