The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis – US Retirement, is a key member of the Global Retirement FP&A team and has matrixed accountability into the US Retirement Finance team. The position is accountable for providing accurate, timely, and relevant monthly, quarterly and annual financial data production, reporting, analysis, planning and forecasting to different stakeholders of the Global Wealth and Asset Management & General Account (GWAM & GA) Finance Financial Planning & Analysis and US Retirement teams. Position Responsibilities: Consolidates, analyzes, and synthesizes large amounts of financial and non-financial information from various partners Prepares high-quality monthly and quarterly reports, dashboards, and presentations for US Retirement, Global WAM & GA Finance collaborators, and develops narratives for financial decks, forecasts, and annual planning Manages and coordinates the yearly 5-year planning process, monthly projections, and financial reporting procedures, providing timely and accurate outcomes Coordinates with US Retirement support teams to identify trends, manage risks, and support key business decisions Responds to ad hoc financial inquiries and produces profitability analysis for miscellaneous income opportunities and initiatives Participates in team cross-training, trains new team members, conducts quality checks on the team's work, and proactively seeks business sense improvement Required Qualifications: University graduate in Accounting, Actuarial, or Finance or equivalent Strong ability to interpret financial statements, develop projections, and provide valuable analysis Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills Good communication and presentation skills; capable of engaging with business partners and team members Proficient in technical accounting skills, understanding financial reporting structures, and using Accounting System tools (SmartView-Essbase, Lawson) Attention to detail, process streamlining, and thriving in a fast-paced, high-performing, collaborative environment Proactive in continuous improvement, identifying complex issues, recommending solutions, and influencing across a matrixed organization Preferred Qualifications: Professional designation (CPA/CFA/MBA) is preferred At least 6 years of experience in a finance role, Wealth and Asset Management industry experience an asset Experience in participating or spearheading in automating processes is a plus Power BI, Anaplan, and Alteryx/other automation tool knowledge is a plus but not required When you join our team: We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see About Manulife and John Hancock Manulife Financial Corporation is a leading international financial services provider, helping people make their decisions easier and lives better.
