Your work environment at EXP
EXP is searching for an Electrical Designer or Technologist to join our Mechanical/Electrical Buildings team in our Hamilton, ON office. The successful applicant will be joining a diverse engineering group in Central Canada poised for growth and challenging opportunities well into the future.
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Under the supervision of senior engineers or project manager, produce design packages including schematic diagrams, floor plans, equipment room layouts and schedules
Under the supervision of senior electrical engineer or project manager, prepare concept reports, meeting minutes, specification and contract administration documents
Conduct site survey for existing conditions when required
Carry the electrical calculation as required for the systems
Obtain information on equipment from suppliers and select equipment with input from senior designers
Attend site meetings during construction with a senior staff member
Contribute to all aspects of system level design and assist with other general tasks when needed. Experience in design of power distribution, lighting/lighting controls, fire alarm communications and other low voltage systems (i.e. nurse call, public address/intercom, etc.) for building applications
What your experience looks like
5-10 years of experience minimum, with a preferred focus in buildings consulting engineering
Revit MEP experience required and AutoCAD proficiency desired
Attention to detail and accuracy
