Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting and overseeing repairs on a variety of Caterpillar components in a shop environment. This position will have a focus on Power Systems and components, including rebuilding, inspecting, and assessing transmissions, torque convertors, differentials, final drives, traction motors, and engines. The successful candidate will work a 5x2 shift and will report to our Power Systems – Edmonton facility. Job Description: Troubleshoot, maintain and perform equipment repairs Assist in fulfilling our customer service commitment Troubleshooting Caterpillar equipment and perform equipment repairs Interface with customers, products and sales support Working with the Supervisor on various tasks Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment Various related duties as required Qualifications Journeyman HET certification Five years experience as Journeyman HET Previous Power Generation experience Self-motivated Team player capable of working with minimal supervision Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail Assets: Service, troubleshoot and repair electrical power generation equipment and compressors Trouble shooting and performing repair on Caterpillar equipment Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position.
