Potential for work that extends past the tree-planting season. Employee ownership potential. Key Responsibilities: Broadcast treatment of all of the vegetation within a designated area. Wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Maintain the spray pack, keep the nozzle out of the dirt and hoses from catching on branches, sticks etc. Walk through logged areas while pumping the backpack and waving the wand. Sufficiently to maintain pressure and achieve good coverage. Follow the direction of the supervisor, crewleader and mixer. Space off flagged boundaries and riparian areas. Waiting for ideal weather conditions. Work areas are assigned by the client over a large geographic region. Frequent travel will be expected. Other duties as required. Experience and Knowledge Expectations: The physical ability to perform highly demanding role The ability to carry 50+ pounds on your back The repeated use of pumping arm and the repeated swing of spray arm Ability to walk rapidly over debris on uneven terrain Tree planting or other forestry work experience The ability to work well individually and as part of a team The ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions Decision making skills Map reading skills Willingness to work, enjoy, and live in a remote setting Preparation for work in all weather conditions Commitment till the end of August at a minimum.
