We are looking for a Property Accountant to join our Corporate-Finance team in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Manager, Residential Accounting, you will be an important part of our team, assisting in the effective operations of our property management offices, while providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:
Process tenant security deposit refunds
Monitor bank accounts and ensure validity of transactions, including bank reconciliations
Prepare bank deposits for multiple bank accounts
Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual working papers, journal entries, and reconciliations
Provide information and liaise with Regional Managers regarding financial matters
Ensure all monthly internal financial reporting are delivered accurately and on a timely basis
Analyze financial statements, identify trends, and prepare and/or assist with variance analysis
Monitor and review accounting processes and procedures and recommend and/or implement changes as appropriate to improve internal controls and efficiencies
Ensure all accounting records are kept up to date within guidelines established by international financial reporting standards
Assist with internal and external auditor requirements
Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budgets for the residential portfolio
Undertake ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Relevant University or College degree in business, accounting, or economics
CPA or working towards designation considered an asset
1-3 years of accounting experience
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Prior property accounting experience considered an asset
Yardi (real-estate software) experience considered an asset
