The Workers’ Compensation Coordinator role is focused on early and safe return to work. The WCC is responsible for managing the day-to-day WC claims for ongoing and new clients. The Workers’ Compensation Coordinator is involved in the maintenance and development of practices and procedures for claims and disability management services. They will communicate with key stakeholders involved, in a professional manner, in order to manage return-to-work planning. In conjunction with the performance of the WC claim, while evaluating historic claims and claim performance to provide solution-focused programs and develop best practices for claims and client management for ongoing and new clients. The Workers' Compensation Coordinator will: Manage day-to-day claims processing, including data entry, follow-ups, appeals. Apply Workers' Compensation (WC) principles to coordinate timely and effective return-to-work (RTW) plans. Conduct detailed phone interviews regarding activities of daily living (ADL) providing tips to remove barriers. Collaborate with all stakeholders involved in the WC process (employers, employees, healthcare providers, etc.) to obtain information, provide claims status, and maintain claim confidentiality and privacy. Evaluate medical documentation for completeness; request additional information as needed to support claims. Make decisions to engage internal/external resources (e.g., medical consultants, independent medical examiners, pharmacogenetics) Escalate complicated claims for claim consults, as per criteria, to WCS on account or Team Lead. Monitor and update claim status weekly; ensure client is informed and aligned on next steps and action plans. Assist in return to work process; overseeing modified work programs, monitoring claims for areas of objection, and then formulating objections. Prepare and finalize monthly/annual reports and participate in regular client calls and meetings. Monitor claim costs and DMA status on SIEF/cost relief files, review NEER/Experience Rating reports, and proactively identify opportunities for cost mitigation. Collaborate with Team Lead to strategize complex claims, set goals, and review performance metrics (KPMs) monthly. Represent the organization at meetings and events, as required. To be successful as the Workers' Compensation Coordinator with OSI, you will need: Registered professional designation (e.g., Paralegal, Certified Disability Management Practitioner, Certified Return To Work Coordinator) or working toward certification. 2–3 years of experience in Workers’ Compensation case management and return-to-work programs. Strong critical thinking, analytical, and negotiation skills. A healthy view and understanding of mental health. A high sense of urgency and prioritization skills. A commitment to exceptional customer service and strong communication skills. Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, while strictly adhering to privacy protocols, company policies, and standard procedures. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn internal systems quickly. To value mentorship, teamwork, and alignment with core company values.
