About KOHO
We’re on a mission to make financial services better for every Canadian. That means no hidden fees, no predatory interest rates - just financial products designed to help our users spend smart, save more, and build real wealth. We’re a performance organization with a strong heart: we care deeply about outcomes, and everything ties back to our mission - to financially empower a generation of Canadians.
At KOHO, we’re not your average 9-5. We believe real impact comes from people who are trusted, empowered, and supported to do their best work - without sacrificing their lives to do it. We prioritize work-life integration, not just work-life balance. That means asynchronous collaboration, flexible hours, and a remote-first setup built around autonomy and high trust.
KOHO is entering its next chapter - leaner, smarter, more AI-integrated. We’re building for impact, not bureaucracy. If you thrive in environments that value clarity, ownership, and bold thinking, you’ll fit right in.
About the Role
At KOHO, product design is key to the brand identity and product differentiation. As a Senior Product Designer, you will be involved in every aspect of the product development process. You will be using your skills in UI and UX design, product design, interaction design, visual / audio / motion design and prototyping to create product experiences that wow and deliver measurable value.
We’re looking for someone who embraces innovation, including the use of Generative AI and other AI-powered tools to speed up workflows, explore creative solutions, and enhance design decision-making. Our dream candidate has a passion for understanding users and enjoys working closely with other designers, engineers, data analysts, and product managers to build the best banking experience for Canadians.
What You’ll Do
You will work closely with Product Managers to shape and refine the product strategy and vision — not just how it looks or works, but why it should be built.
You will prepare wireframes, user flows, process flows, sitemaps, and other artifacts to effectively communicate design ideas and user interactions.
You will operate within an iterative design process, rapidly prototyping, initiating user research, incorporating feedback, and testing hypotheses in an agile environment.
You will collaborate early with engineers, providing design direction while understanding the technical requirements needed to bring your designs to life.
You will work cross-functionally to influence all aspects of the product — from copywriting to lifecycle marketing.
You will advocate for a design-centric approach to product development and serve as a mentor to other designers and cross-functional teammates.
You will leverage AI tools to streamline the design process, and uncover deeper user insights.
Who You Are
You bring 5+ years of experience as a mobile UI/UX practitioner, thriving in fast-paced environments.
You communicate clearly and confidently, presenting your designs to a variety of audiences and articulating the rationale behind your decisions.
You apply user-centric design principles with ease, following web and mobile design standards and best practices.
You have a sharp eye for design and a deep understanding of how to craft intuitive, impactful user workflows.
You enjoy collaborating with others and are passionate about solving real user problems together.
You take initiative and navigate ambiguity with confidence, using your creativity and resourcefulness to find solutions.
You excel at solving complex problems and pride yourself on being highly self-sufficient.
You’re proficient in modern design tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
You incorporate GenAI into your design workflows to boost creativity and efficiency.
You come prepared with a strong portfolio that showcases your product design skills and relevant experience.
You’re well-versed in designing for consumer-facing products, particularly in the social, financial, or broader B2C space.
