Job Summary
Reporting to the manager of light fleet, the maintenance planner will support the light fleet requirements throughout the various sectors within the Ocean Capital group of companies. This role supports the management and maintenance of the light fleet by coordinating preventative service schedules, ensuring accurate documentation in fleet systems, and collaborating with internal teams and external vendors. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to reduced downtime.
Responsibilities
Monitor preventative maintenance schedules for assigned vehicles
Plan service intervals, and coordinate with operational stakeholders
Ensure workorders are opened and closed, and relevant systems are maintained and accurate
Collaborate with fleet analyst, and other members of mobile assets group
Foster good working relationships with key vendors and suppliers
Embrace, champion and drive the department's commitment of "available for use"
Provide overall support to the Light Fleet Manager
Candidate should have a valid class 5 driver’s license, for occasional movement of vehicles in the Saint John area
Minimal travel required
Other duties and tasks, as assigned
Technical Requirements
Post secondary education (college diploma or equivalent) in a related field
Prior experience within the transportation industry, preferably within the area of maintenance planning / scheduling
Technical aptitude and understanding of equipment and mobile assets
Business Requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong customer service skills
Cultural Requirements
Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently
