- Should be able to attend the event in-person in Regina on September 24.

The Early Childhood Educator (Level I) supports the delivery of high-quality care and early learning for children from infancy to school age. Under the supervision of senior educators and the Director, the Level I ECE contributes to planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities that promote the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth of each child. All work must follow the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education Child Care Regulations and the center’s policies and procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Child Care & Development
Support daily routines, play-based learning, and caregiving activities in line with Ministry standards.
Assist in implementing age-appropriate programs that foster creativity, curiosity, problem-solving, and social skills.
Provide responsive care by attending to children’s physical needs (feeding, toileting, dressing, rest).
Encourage positive interactions, respect for diversity, and inclusion of all children.
Health, Safety, & Nutrition
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment that meets Ministry health and safety requirements.
Monitor children’s health and wellbeing, reporting concerns to the Director/Supervisor promptly.
Support safe food handling practices and encourage healthy eating routines.
Follow all emergency, supervision, and safety procedures (fire drills, illness policies, etc.).
Documentation & Reporting
Observe and record children’s growth, behaviors, and achievements under the guidance of senior staff.
Assist in maintaining attendance records, incident reports, and daily logs as required.
Ensure compliance with confidentiality and privacy standards.
Collaboration & Teamwork
Work cooperatively with other educators, assistants, and staff to maintain a positive team environment.
Communicate openly with colleagues and supervisors about program activities, challenges, and successes.
Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development as required.
Family Engagement
Interact positively and respectfully with families, providing updates on children’s routines and activities.
Support inclusive partnerships with families by valuing their culture, language, and parenting practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Minimum of Early Childhood Educator Level I Certification (recognized by Saskatchewan Ministry of Education).
Experience: Previous child care experience preferred.
Knowledge: Understanding of child development, play-based learning, and Ministry regulations.
Skills: Strong communication, patience, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
Other Requirements:
Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
Compliance with immunization requirements as per Ministry guidelines.
Work Conditions
Full-time
Indoor and outdoor supervision in various weather conditions.
Physical requirements include lifting, bending, sitting on the floor, and active play with children.
