CREW SCHEDULER

The opportunity
The Crew Scheduler ensures that Scheduling Services meets operational requirements and company objectives in accordance with operational policies, the collective agreement and regulatory requirements for vessels and shore positions.
The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Scheduling Services, you will perform the following duties:
Handling short term absence and replacement requests to ensure that crewing profiles and terminal staff allocations are met in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Ensuring operational, regulatory and collective agreement compliance and by analysing work assignments and scheduling for optimum utilization of staff in a cost-effective manner.
Implementing schedules and staff assignments prepared by crewing officers/advisor and cross checking as required.
Generating and controlling time sheets and crew lists accurately and on time
Maintaining superior customer service skills and positive relationships in communication with employees and in resolving problems and issues.
Undertaking longer term planning functions in support of leave programs.
Monitoring and forecasting needs to prepare accurate schedules for implementation monthly.
What you bring to the team
Education and Experience
High School Diploma supplemented by some post-secondary education
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel
1-3 years of office experience preferably in a complex unionized environment
Experience with staff scheduling systems, accounting systems or Human Resources would be an asset
Knowledge and Competencies

Additional information
The target salary range: $57,400-$71,700 per annum. The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity. Starting salary may exceed the target range on exceptional basis.
