Role Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Financial Specialist Associate to join our team! In this role you will get to perform a variety of assignments related to Financial and Accounting operations, as well as the processing of Contracts for the achievement of strategic and financial goals of the Division.

Provide administrative and financial support to the Division Business Manager.

Maintain standard accounting and financial records utilizing a computerized accounting system.

Prepare financial information for use by other departments, clients, and/or suppliers.

Prepare journal entries and write-offs for accounts receivable, unbilled, and accounts payable.

Summarize costs and perform financial analyses for proposal spending, and distribute weekly proposal spending reports to management.

Summarize and analyze monthly overhead spending by Sub-Sector and distribute monthly overhead and proposal spending reports to management.

Perform financial reconciliations, including analysis of accounts receivable and unbilled aging reports, and analysis of reserves.

Summarize cash receipts and sub-consultant payments and distribute weekly reports to Sectors, Sub-Sectors, and Project Managers.

Maintain Insurance Certificate Tracking System.

Apply the provisions and terms of sub-consultant agreements to ensure COIs are in compliance.

Upload sub-consultant agreements and certificates of insurance.

Serve as liaison with insurance provider in securing the necessary COIs for new contracts and proposals.

Assist the Division Business Manager in the development of the annual overhead budget.

Assist with preparation of various financial summaries, including Monthly Operations Reports and Business Plan preparations.

Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications
-
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics (or equivalent).

2+ years of related work experience.

Strong working knowledge of accounting/financial concepts and practices, as well as accounting processes and systems.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Proficiency in PC software packages typically associated with accounting.

Experience in dealing with various types of contracts (e.g., firm-fixed-price, fixed-price with economic price adjustment, fixed-price incentive, cost reimbursement, cost sharing, cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-award-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee, and time and material).
