The focus is on urban design and development of a housing project. The course meets on Mondays and Thursday afternoons from 2:30-5:30 from January 5 through April 14. The position requires a knowledge of Montreal housing policy, community organizing and various models of delivering non-profit housing, as well as urban design principles. Salary: $11,479 (3 credits worth) Teaching Qualification Requirements: The candidate must detain an MSc. (or higher) degree in urban planning, urban studies or a related discipline, and should be familiar with Studio-based teaching in an urban planning teaching context. They should have some professional experience in site- or real-estate development (either directly or in a close management or advisory role), ideally in the housing sector and ideally in both private and not-for-profit contexts. Preference given to applicants who have relevant academic teaching experience and publications.
