ISLA 360 - Islam and Politics in Africa Course Overview: Islam and Politics in Africa is a course that offers an interdisciplinary overview of a wide range of themes pertaining to the assessment of the relationship between Islam and politics in contemporary Africa through various analytic themes, including an historical, political economy, social movement, and gendered analysis. The selected candidate will prepare formal lessons and instructions for a 3 hours per week course. They will also administer examinations and assignments in conformity with regulations and are required to mark tests and assignments and submit the final grades online using McGill systems. Teaching Qualification Requirements: Education Ph.D. in politics, sociology, education, gender and women’s studies or a related discipline. Experience Relevant teaching experience at the University Level. Experience in teaching socio-economic, political, and women’s issues as these pertain to Africa.
