Wicehtowak Frontec Services is seeking a Journeyperson Carpenter to join our team in Jansen, SK. The Journeyperson Carpenter is responsible for constructing, repairs, restores, and installs structural wood/steel work and related materials.

The Jansen discovery Lodge is a workforce housing facility in support of the potash mine. The camp is located 155 kilometers east of Saskatoon, SK.
Our positions work on a 14 day on, 14 days off rotation. Accommodations and meals during your work rotations are provided by the company.
Responsibilities:
Repair and maintain doors, floors, windows, partitions, ceilings, and exteriors of buildings; builds and installs door and window framing
Build wooden/steel structures such as partitions, building, office additions, does sheeting and rough carpentry on the buildings as well as final finishes
Perform hand and bench work in carpentry work shop; operate planers, joiners, drill presses, power saws, sanders, and other woodworking machinery
Repair and maintain hand tools, saws, and other carpentry tools; installs locks, doorknobs, and other building hardware
Repair and maintain doors, floors, windows, partitions, ceilings, and exteriors of buildings; build and install door and window framing
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must hold a Red Seal in Carpentry
5 years or more of field work in a commecial/light industrial setting performing various tasks for new construction and renovations
Current OSSA or OSHA approved certificates in Fall Arrest, Confined Space, and Elevated Work Platform required
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications and work from sketches
Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, methods, materials, and tools of the carpentry trade
Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade
Ability to plan, lay out, and perform carpentry work of average difficulty
Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the carpentry trade
Knowledge of cabinet-making techniques
Skills in the construction, repair, restoration, and installation of wood or related materials
Ability to estimate time and materials needed for assigned work projects
