Project Coordinator – Civil Construction (New Graduate)
Maple Reinders Constructors is currently searching for a Project Coordinator to join our Civil construction division in Ontario. The successful candidate will be working in the Vaughan / Barrie area.
As a Project Coordinator in our Civil division, you will have the opportunity to support our Project Managers in delivering heavy civil and industrial-type projects. In addition, you’ll support the project team with documentation, estimating, budgeting, and scheduling, while gaining exposure to various contract types such as Design-Build, Plan and Spec, and Construction Management. Your key responsibility is to help ensure projects are delivered profitably, to spec, with high quality and a strong focus on site safety.
Responsibilities:
Will be participating on heavy civil and industrial type projects
Assisting in preparing budgets and construction schedules, setting up project administration files
With direction from the Project Manager, initiating and maintaining correspondence with Owner, Architect, Engineers, sub-trades and suppliers
Gain an understanding of how to select suppliers and sub-trades and obtaining quotations
Assisting with and/or clarifying scope of work with sub-trades and suppliers
Developing successful relationships with current and prospective clients, consultants, realtors, and developers
Ensuring there is a continuous focus on site safety in accordance with regulatory requirements as well as our Corporate Health and Safety Policy
Attending site meetings and assisting in the completion of project deficiencies
Closing tenders in consultation with senior managers
At Maple we are looking for individuals who have the skills and desire to take on the role of a Project Coordinator and have the drive to become a Project Manager.
Qualifications:
Recent graduate of a college diploma or university degree in the field of Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Co-op experience as a Project Coordinator in the construction industry is considered an asset.
A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or a combination of education and industry experience.
Valid drivers license.
Travel and or relocation may be required based on project locations.
