As a member of the health care team, this role supports patient care through equipment and supply management, maintenance of a clean, organized, safe environment and participation in selected patient care activities. The HCA provides unit support to patients, families and those providing service and/or care. Functions according to the job description for Technical Health Care Aides and Clinical Health Care Aides
- Successful completion of a HCA/PSW recognized program.
- Successful completion of a CSAO course will be given preference.
- Current BCLS
- Experience maintaining and stocking materials and supplies including quotas and purchasing.
- Recent Emergency Department experience as a HCA-Technical (within 2 years) Required
- Computer familiarity or willingness to learn computer skills as required
- Understanding and knowledge to apply WHMIS and Legislative requirements
- Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, collaboration and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated initiative and judgment appropriate for the position
- Ability to accept assigned or delegated functions, set priorities and organize work accordingly
- Physical capabilities including but not limited to the ability to lift, push, pull and bend as needed using appropriate body mechanics.
