This position is located at site in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba (MB) Duties and Responsibilities As defined by the Head of Production, bring technical solutions for process optimization. The incumbent will lead all process related studies and coordinate trial sessions in order to achieve the performance KPIs. Develop the technical skills of the production team by delivering a technical training program Take the lead as the process expert for the engineering project Leads trials in partnership with Global Manufacturing performance, R&D and Global Engineering Improve the productivity of the plant Document all procedures and work instructions that are process related. Build, own and update process flow diagrams (PFDs) and standard operating procedures to support the operation of the plant Keep the technical documentations up to date Establishes, analyzes, and acts upon measures of performance related to processes. Investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies relating to equipment and processes to reduce variation and improve reliability. Assists with the creation of matrix routings to manage the flow of materiel throughout the process. Lead/participate in process troubleshooting and equipment failure investigations Own and update the material and energy balances for the area Maintain a process utility spreadsheet and process design narrative to support other project disciplines Prepares functional descriptions of the process to describe required operation to the automation team Provides assistance in providing technical data in preparation of operating procedures, environmental permit applications and reports Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements Education: Degree in Chemical Engineering and must have P.Eng Experience: Minimum 6 years in food process (Preferred) Minimum of 6 years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Specific requirements: Demonstrated experience in process development and project management. Technical Applicative competencies Good Analytical skills and ability to look for technical solutions to all process related problems. Strong engineering knowledge and familiarity with experimental design and statistical data analysis. Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, experimental design software, and CAD systems (e.g. Solid works, AutoCAD).
