As a 309-A electrician specializing in electrical service, you will be responsible for providing effective electrical services to our clients in the ICI (industrial, commercial, institutional) sectors while strongly emphasizing customer satisfaction.
Your role will involve troubleshooting electrical issues, conducting repairs, and performing installations. You must be well-organized, resourceful, a strong communicator, and solution-oriented. For this client base, time is often money, so you must be skilled at getting to the root of the problem quickly and ensuring the customer feels well taken care of.

Role and Responsibilities

Install wiring, conduits, raceways, cables, and electrical components (e.g., light fixtures, switches, receptacles, panels, transformers).
Install and energize power distribution equipment and life safety systems (e.g., fire alarms, emergency lighting, generators).
Conduct routine maintenance, testing, rewiring, and preventative maintenance for electrical systems or components.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
Ensure installations adhere to ESA codes, building codes, and industry best practices.
Interpret project documentation (e.g., blueprints, circuit diagrams) to guide installations.
Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring proper organization, functionality, and secure storage.
Conduct quality control checks to ensure work meets the company's excellence standards.
Supervise and train team members as required.
Work with a safety-first mentality for yourself, team members, and others.
Educate customers on proposed electrical work and safety considerations.
Monitor material quantities and order supplies through appropriate channels.
Complete reports, billing details, time cards, and safety documentation promptly.
Participate in an on-call schedule for after-hours emergency calls.
Ensure all work complies with the company's policies and documented standards, including the Kraun Experience.
Continuously seek ways to improve processes and achieve excellence.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
309-A Electrician (Construction & Maintenance) License in Good Standing with Skilled Trades Ontario
Ontario G License in Good Standing - must provide a clean 3-year Drivers' Abstract
Must pass a background screening, which includes reference checks and the provision of a clean criminal reference check
Preferred Skills
Minimum of three years of recent, consecutive experience as an electrician, specifically within existing industrial, commercial, and/or institutional sectors
Minimum of three years of experience in customer service or interacting directly with customers
In-depth knowledge of electrical systems such as power distribution, fire alarm, generators, and control lighting
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent knowledge and comprehension of the Electrical Safety Authority code, building code, and other related codes
Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and best practices
Excellent critical thinking and solution-oriented
Able to work well on a team
Able to work within a schedule-driven environment, with the ability to consistently meet deadlines
Able to communicate and report effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

Working Environment & Physical Demands
Working conditions include, but are not limited to:
Outdoor Work: You will be required to work outdoors, where you will be exposed to various weather conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind.
Height: The job will involve working at heights, such as climbing ladders and scaffolds or working on elevated platforms.
Confined Spaces: You will need to work in tight and confined spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, or utility tunnels.
Lifting and Carrying: The position will require lifting, carrying, and pulling heavy items and equipment weighing over 50 pounds, such as conduit, wiring, tools, and machinery.
Uneven Terrain: Electricians may need to navigate and work on uneven terrain, including construction sites, unfinished buildings, and outdoor landscapes.
Physical Demands: The job involves physical exertion and stamina to perform tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking flights of stairs for extended periods.
Noise and Vibrations: The work environment will involve exposure to loud noises from machinery and equipment and vibrations from power tools and heavy machinery.
Safety Gear: Compliance with safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots is mandatory.
Flexible Schedule: Depending on project deadlines and client requirements, the job may require working evenings, weekends, or overtime.
Teamwork: Collaboration with other individuals, including team members, contractors, and project managers, is essential and requires effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Travel: Some projects may require travel to different job sites, which may involve longer drives.
Physical Fitness: Good physical health and fitness are necessary to perform job duties safely and effectively.
