Job Description: The Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program of Algonquin College is looking for passionate individuals to contribute their expertise as a part-time Instructor of our Level 1 Cardiac Scanning Lab I (IMG1024) course in the Fall 2025 term. Time: Wednesdays 11:30-2:30PM AND/OR Thursdays 11:30-2:30PM, from October 1/2 to December 3/4 (excluding October 22/23) Course delivery: In-person, Algonquin College Wage: $53.02 - $90.06, established in terms of relevant educational qualifications and experience. Under the direction of the Academic Chair, the part-time Instructor is responsible for facilitating and guiding learning and providing an effective learning environment for all students in the laboratory. The professional responsibilities involve the teaching of assigned courses, including: delivery of regularly scheduled instruction in the Fall 2025 term ensuring student awareness of course learning outcomes and evaluation techniques providing a learning environment which makes effective use of available resources including educational technologies evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the student’s work within assigned courses the development and creation of a learning environment that is conducive to success for all students Required Qualifications: Registered with the CMRITO and either Sonography Canada or ARDMS (in good standing) Minimum two (2) year post graduate certificate in Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography or related field. Degree an asset Minimum of five (5) years of recent work experience as a diagnostic cardiac sonographer in a health care environment Minimum two (2) years of teaching experience including preceptorship experience, preferably in a post-secondary setting Demonstrated knowledge of student success strategies in a post-secondary setting Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of educational technologies Highly effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills A clear commitment to supporting learner success Algonquin College values diversity and is an equal opportunity employer.
