Summary: The Systems Data Analyst is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and support of tax systems and integrations. This role involves ensuring accurate tax calculations, maintaining compliance with internal and external governance requirements, and collaborating cross-functionally during system integrations and launches. The Analyst will also have the opportunity to leverage advanced data analysis tools such as Excel and Power Query to generate insightful reports and support the tax functional team's requirements. Key Responsibilities: Perform system configuration, regular maintenance, and updates to Vertex; create and maintain comprehensive documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Collaborate cross-functionally with various business systems teams including IT, business analytics, finance and sales to gather and analyze requirements during new integrations or system launches. Troubleshoot and resolve tax calculation errors by conducting tests and implementing solutions promptly across multiple billing systems (both internally built and off-the-shelf). Adhere to the organization's IT governance framework, ensuring compliance with SOX, Active Directory, and Privileged Access Management (PAM) audits. Understand and maintain the design and integrity of Vertex reports; generate reports based on requests from the tax functional team. Extract and analyze data from various source systems using Excel, Power Query, and other data analysis tools to produce accurate and actionable reports. Ad-hoc tasks supporting both the indirect and income tax functions Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: Strong proficiency in Excel and Power Query Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities Proficient in requirement gathering and documentation Effective stakeholder management and communication skills Detail-oriented with a focus on testing documentation and quality assurance Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Management, Accounting, Computer Science, or related fields. Demonstrate experience with Power Query and Power BI. Knowledge and experience with Vertex including the configuration of tax assist rules is required. Familiarity with ERP systems such as WorkDay, GP, Trux/Tower is advantageous. Knowledge and understanding of indirect tax principles and practices. Experience with Alteryx is considered an asset.
