Job Summary:
Reporting to the Team Lead Demand Planning, the Demand Planning Specialist is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts, optimizing alignment between customer forecasts and POS data, and internal forecasts. The ideal candidate has strong forecasting skills, a keen understanding of market trends and effectively partners with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to drive business success.
This is a hybrid position that will require at least 3x/week on-site working at our Montreal office.
Responsibilities:
Analyze historical sales trends, promotional plans, and gather market insights to develop reliable demand forecasts
Assign and maintain forecasting models using statistical techniques and tools
Prepare forecasts monthly at the item/customer/sales team level to enable product manufacturing of netted requirements
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Operation teams to gather insights and align forecasts with business plans
Gather customer inputs, and analyze POS data, forecasts, and inventory levels to ensure accurate demand planning
Generate the agenda and lead monthly collaborative meetings with the commercial team
Monitor forecast accuracy and adjust models as needed to improve performance
Identify and communicate risks and opportunities in demand planning to S&OP team
Monitor forecast performance and identify root causes to drive corrective actions and minimize the impact of deviations.
Review, update and maintain processes and procedures on an ongoing basis
Support the implementation of demand planning tools and best practices
Skills and Abilities:
3-5 years of supply chain experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, Statistical or a related field
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, experience with Power BI Dashboards an asset
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to build strong and productive relationships with cross-functional teams
Proficiency with forecasting tools and software
Detail oriented and strong analytical skills with the ability to convert analysis into forecast insights
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Ability to present data in a succinct and relevant way
ASCM and/or IBF certification an asset
Microsoft D365 experience an asset
