Mikwahp (Driftpile Children’s Lodge) is a community-based and family-oriented organization dedicated to providing care, protection, and well-being for all Driftpile Cree Nation children in a preventative manner, promoting healing for children, families, and the community. A coordinated, holistic, and interdisciplinary approach forms the foundation of the Agency, ensuring that the developmental needs of children, youth, and families are met with respect for their cultural identity, customs, traditions, beliefs, and values.
JOB OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Receptionist is responsible for providing administrative support for Chief Kinosew
Aawasak
Mikiwahp (CKAM). This includes answering phones, booking appointments, and maintaining front desk systems. The incumbent will be the first point of contact for CKAM, as such, must greet staff and guests positively. The Receptionist will work on an as-needed basis and work during busier times and employee absences.
Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact greeting staff and/or visitors and answer inquiries, and book appointments.
Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email.
Receive, sort, and distribute daily mail/deliveries.
Coordinate meeting logistics and support as needed (creating agendas, recording minutes, etc.).
Assist with maintaining Program contact lists.
Maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
Demonstrate problem-solving skills to direct issues that arise.
Track employees in and out of the office.
Maintain the copier, scanning, and organizing daily files.
Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures).
Other duties, as required.
Willingness to work on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications
Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role.
Experience related to Child & Family Services would be considered an asset.
Must have availability for short-notice scheduling/shifts.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks accordingly.
Strong writing and communication skills.
Clear Criminal Record and Child Intervention Record checks.
Microsoft Office software, emails, databases, excel.
Knowledge and understanding of First Nation culture and communities.
Cree Language is an asset.
