Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist plays a key role in daily accounting operations, with a primary focus on AP processing in a dynamic, global environment. This role manages internal and external inquiries, supports broader accounting functions, and contributes to accurate financial reporting and continuous process improvement.
Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:
Process global vendor invoices across international offices, ensuring accurate coding, proper approvals, policy compliance, and correct postings in the ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central); a high-impact opportunity to build advanced AP skills in a complex, global finance environment.
Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and shipping documents to validate accuracy; follow up on discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.
Coordinate and execute bi-weekly payment runs across multiple bank accounts including domestic fund transfers, international wires, and recurring bill payments.
Reconcile vendor statements and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner to maintain current and accurate account balances.
Review and process employee expense reports in Concur, ensuring all claims are supported with appropriate documentation and comply with company policies.
Administer global corporate credit cards, including card application, tracking available credit and processing card cancellations.
Maintain and update vendor master data, including vendor profile creation and modifications.
Assist with month-end close activities by preparing key schedules (prepaids, deposits, accrued liabilities), reconciling the accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger, and supporting financial reporting.
Maintain and update foreign exchange rates in the ERP to ensure accurate transaction processing.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and responding to auditor inquiries in a timely manner.
Support a variety of ad hoc projects driven by our fast-paced, evolving environment—offering opportunities to grow beyond core AP responsibilities.
Experience and Knowledge
At least 1–2 years of experience in Accounts Payable; experience dealing with multiple currencies and/or in a mining company are considered an asset.
Post-secondary education in Accounting.
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in ERP and accounting systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset.
Skills and Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to create, modify, and interpret spreadsheets using functions such as formulas, sorting, and filtering.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Base salary of $55,000 - $65,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
