Job Description Overview The Engineering Services group in Sudbury, ON provides mechanical and electrical design for all types of buildings such as Hospitals, Long Term Care facilities, Universities, Colleges, Institutional, Recreational, Commercial, Light Industrial, Multi-Residential market. We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead teams on Electrical design for many types of buildings, managing projects, budgets, and resources, and ensuring compliance with technical and evaluating department operations, recruiting and developing staff, collaborating with stakeholders, and overseeing technical work to meet project goals and organizational needs. Your role Supervise Electrical design staff, assign technical tasks, provide guidance and feedback, and ensure staff competence and professional growth. Manage all phases of Electrical design projects, including planning, design, budgeting, scheduling, and execution, to ensure timely and successful completion. Provide expert recommendations and technical support for Electrical design reviews, strategic plans, and projects, and establish technical standards for documentation and designs. Allocate resources, manage departmental budgets, forecast costs, and ensure the availability of affordable and reliable materials. Consult with clients and stakeholders, prepare proposals and technical reports, and coordinate with other departments and regulatory agencies to achieve project goals. Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures to streamline operations, ensure compliance with safety guidelines, and improve product quality. About you Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario. (Registered in other provinces is an asset). Minimum 15 years’ experience in building systems engineering, preferably for educational, health care, offices, municipal infrastructure, and commercial facilities, working with relevant codes including, OBC, NBC, CEC/OESC, ASHRAE 90.1, relevant CSA Standards (C282, Z32, Z317.5, B44, etc.), ULC-S524 and S537. In-depth knowledge of electrical design, project management, budget management, and resource allocation. Experience supervising, mentoring, and motivating a team of engineers and designers. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary for managing teams and liaising with clients and stakeholders. (i.e. understanding client objectives, anticipating and meeting client needs, and growing the business). Proficient with AUTOCAD. (REVIT and Micro-station experience is an asset).
