About the Role:

We currently have an opening for a full-time producer/anchor responsible for producing 3 days a week and anchoring on weekend mornings.
The job is based in Toronto and reports to the Executive Producer & Supervising Producer of MMCOTT.
The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
This is a Group 4 position under the current collective agreement.

Plan, produce and present dynamic, personality-driven, informative newscasts on major markets and affiliate news programs and the web.
Collaborate with a team of producers and editors in creating comprehensive, creative, entertaining, and informative news content for our streaming service.
Assist in determining the look, style, pace, lineup, and format of our streaming service based on established criteria and values.
Collaborate with fellow producers and writers to maintain Global News editorial standards.
Identify creative opportunities to ensure our programming is dynamic, engaging, and intelligent.
Plan, select, and request production and resource elements.
Develop and maintain a network of contacts inside and outside Global News.
Work with affiliates to coordinate news coverage and resources.
Perform other duties as required.
Participate in promotional activities for Global News.
Skills and experience you will bring:
Post-secondary diploma or degree in broadcasting, journalism, or a related field.
Minimum of five years’ reporting experience in a large market newsroom, preferably with experience performing live segments.
The ability to respond quickly and knowledgably to breaking news.
The ability to write/produce web, text, and social media content.
Original, creative storytelling skills required, and robust online skills.
Experience in updating online and broadcast content.
Public speaking experience required.
Exemplary leadership and communication skills.
Possess excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to make independent decisions in pressure situations.
Ability to manage the demands and pressure of multiple broadcast deadlines.
Knowledge of Grass Valley editing software is an asset.
An amazing, can-do attitude.
Ability to work well in a team setting.
