Job Title: Grain Elevator Assistant
Location: Somerset
Salaried/Hourly: Hourly
Reports to: Facility Manager
Delmar Commodities, LTD A Bartlett Company, is seeking a full-time Elevator Assistant at our Somerset facility. The elevator assistant role will require a split between administrative responsibilities and time spent working with the production team. Extended hours (including weekends) are occasionally required, especially during busy times. Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills are critical in this role.
Position Responsibilities

Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Customer service orientated: interact with customers and employees on site
Unloading of producer’s grain and loading of trucks.
Completing Bill of Ladings for both inbound and outbound trucks.
Complete XPORT border crossing entries on outbound trucks.
Operating, completing checks and adjusting the grain cleaner on site.
Take settlement instructions and enter in AGTECH and get needed information from producers
Log in samples when producers drop off as well as forward the results to the manager when completed
Answering calls and providing customer service as well as taking messages
Entering of new producers AGTECH
Assist in loading, unloading, and cleaning of agricultural commodities
Housekeeping and yard upkeep
Accurately complete all documentation related to shipping/receiving
Participate in safety inspections and corrective actions
Requirements Preferred
Experience in a grain handling environment
High school diploma
Able to work extended hours/weekends as needed
Zero injury mindset
Strong communication and organization skills
Physical Requirements
Able to repetitively climb up and down railcars/ladders safely, walk up and down steps, work at heights, and sweep/shovel grain
Ability to work outside, including in inclement weather
Can carry at least fifty (50) pounds
Able to stand and walk for the majority of each shift
