BC Place is hiring Building Environmental Services to join the Event Services team.
Building Environmental Services is responsible for the sanitation, organization, and cleanliness of both the interior and the exterior of the building. This position is responsible for cleaning offices, team, and event areas. Building Environmental Services are also waste ambassadors, and are highly involved with the building’s waste and recycling diversion program, which requires operating forklifts to transport and dump waste containers. This position will also be required to focus on floor/carpet maintenance, which includes operating auto floor machines/carpet cleaners, as needed. This position will be required to work overnights as needed.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Operating large commercial floor, carpet cleaning and finishing machines;
Operating mobile equipment; garbage dump truck, flat deck battery operated carts, golf carts, fork lift;
Collecting, sorting, transporting and dumping recycling and waste;
Cleaning washrooms, kitchens, offices, bowl seats;
Cleaning the exterior of the building and parking lots;
Professionally representing BC Place to Clients and Guests and providing service when appropriate;
Performing other Stadium duties/functions as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Minimum two years’ janitorial experience;
Proven ability to operate large commercial floor, carpet cleaning and finishing machines;
Sound knowledge of WHMIS procedures (certification preferred);
Effective written and verbal communication skills;
Demonstrated commitment to providing service excellence;
Proven ability to work with minimum or no supervision;
Licensed Forklift Operator required;
BC Driver’s license (abstract required);
Building Service Worker 1 (certification preferred);
Ability to lift 35 pounds;
Ability to stand for long lengths of time and walk long distances;
Flexible to work days, afternoons, and overnights; including evenings & weekends.

Hourly Rate of Pay: $26.07 - $28.67
