Reporting to the Food Store Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:
Perform the function and role of Head Meat Cutter.
Lead, train and supervise all staff in Meat department.
Manage and maintain consistent buying and selling policies as per association standards.
Direct the preparation of sales and promotion events.
Maintain competitive prices and initiate price checks.
Comply with all CFIA government standards applicable to the Meat Department.
Ensure a high level of prompt, efficient and friendly customer service.
Responsible for all food safety, cleaning, sanitizing and housekeeping regulations and association standards
Responsible for merchandising, budgeting, inventories, human resources and customer relations.
Ensure the quality and condition of all merchandise in department meets all the Co-operative’s standards.
Review and analyse the operating statements related to the department, in order to ensure efficient operating and initiate immediate corrective action where necessary.
Maintenance of the Co-operative’s equipment, merchandising fixtures and premises.
Ensure all policies and procedures of the Co-operative are communicated and maintained.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Candidates will have 5+ years of experience in a Meat Department.
Meat Cutter certification is required.
Preference would be given to candidates who have experience as a team leader, supervisor or mentor and also have experience working within a complex, high volume, retail setting.
Experience within the Co-op retail system would be considered an asset, in addition to CRS Candidates whom have completed or are completing Advance Training.
