Job Description: Outreach Team Lead (Temporary)
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Executive Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
Salary Range: $29.22-$31.56.
Full-time Temporary to March 31, 2027.
The Outreach Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the outreach counselling programs, including the Adult Survivors of Sexual Abuse program, Crisis Support Counselling, the THSP program and children’s programming, while offering direct support to clients as needed. This position is an in-person position with at least 50% of time spent in the Haileybury office.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Service:
Provide individual and/or group counselling to survivors of current and historical sexual violence, including assessments, in-depth interviews, referrals, accompaniment, advocacy, etc.
Use a harm reduction and trauma-informed approach
Establish, coordinate and facilitate group counselling programs
Assess, screen and orient new clients
Participate in case conferences
Provide support to other programs as needed
Community Development/Education:
Establish and maintain professional relationships with relevant community agencies and institutions
Maintain the resource library related to violence against women
Participate in community committees as required
Develop and implement public education and promotional events and activities, including workshops and seminars
Administrative Support:
Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of women and their dependents and ensures compliance with the ESA, OSHA and other health and safety-related legislation.
Maintain required documentation, including intake forms, medical forms, statistical and monthly program reports
Maintain records of staff supervision and employee files for team members.
Participate in ongoing program evaluation
Assist with agency events and fundraising campaigns
Establish and maintain a supportive professional relationship with all women and children
Oversee the organization of PWC community events
Support other programs as needed
Human Resources:
Supervise staff in the adult survivors of sexual abuse program, crisis support counselling, the THSP program and children’s programming
Recruit, orient and train staff and students in the Outreach programs
Conduct performance review and manage ongoing team performance
Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff
Provide debriefing to staff
Provide emergency back-up and participate in the On-Call rotation
Organize staff input and direction on service delivery and agency issues
Effectively communicate agency and program changes to staff
Work with staff and clients to resolve conflicts
Work with the executive director to administer discipline per PWC policies
Monitor hours worked, vacation, sick time and use of hours by team members
Review referrals and assign new files to team members
Lead and assign duties related to PWC community events
Participate actively in staff meetings and supervision sessions with the Executive Director
Communicate concerns, issues, and problems affecting job performance and program quality to the Executive Director
Performs other job-related duties as requested by the Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree in counselling or social work or the equivalent combination of training and experience. Membership in good standing with a professional college may be required.
A minimum of five years of direct experience working beyond the crisis intervention stage with survivors of gender-based violence
Supervisory experience and knowledge of human resources preferred.
Valid Ontario driver’s license or transportation to perform the duties of the role.
Vulnerable Sector Check that is satisfactory to the agency.
Bilingual French/English preferred
Knowledge of the health and social service network in the community and surrounding area
Well-developed skills in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, advocacy, and case management
Ability to use Microsoft Office, Zoom and agency-specific software packages such as Payworks, BambooHR and the WISH client database.

Flexible work schedule to accommodate agency programming Monday to Friday

Regular travel within the district and occasional travel outside the district is required.
