We are currently looking for a Cost Analyst to join our team!
The Cost Analyst performs in-depth cost analysis through the collection of information from financial statements, internal departments and databases for the purpose of evaluating departmental and part level cost analysis and reporting results. The team member will also investigate any issues and discrepancies that may arise.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize financial statements and ERP system information to perform cost analysis and profitability analysis to the department and part level.
- Analyze a multitude of different material costs to ensure system accuracy; also supports the audits of internal Bill of Materials (BOM) by working with those responsible for maintenance of BOMs
- Conduct analysis of quotations on different products and compare to actual cost (quote vs BOM)
- Investigate discrepancies by communicating with other departments within the company to ensure the accuracy of current information and to make corrections as necessary
- Work closely with leadership of departments to study the quantity of material and components that are consumed in production and organize date to compare with ERP system information
- Prepare and organize studies by gathering findings from comparisons and creating reports to present to management and other co-workers
- Support with various departmental functions (ex. Annual budgets, Audits, Financial Reporting)
- Protect organizations value by keeping information confidential
Job Qualifications
Education
▪ Successful completion of a minimum 2–4-year post-secondary program; both general business and finance & accounting are considered an asset
Experience
▪ 1-2 years of experience in a business environment
▪ 1-2 years of accounting or finance experience
▪ General knowledge of automotive industry
Skills and Abilities
▪ Analytical thinking skills
▪ Understanding the difference of fixed vs variable expenses and their impact on cost-volume-profit analysis
