Savaria Lifts has an immediate need for an Service Technician (licensed or apprentice) to serve the Edmonton AB market. This hands-on position will install, service and repair elevators and other equipment in homes, offices, etc. This position Is 100% on the road on jobsites in the Edmonton market.
Essential Duties and Requirements
- Drive to job site location
- Work safely
- Perform preparatory construction work including steel work, wiring and piping
- Install and repair elevators and related equipment according to specifications and in the allocated hours
- Connect car frames to counterweights with cables and assemble elevator cars
- Install and wire electric and electronic control system devices
- Remain current on all applicable codes and ensure all jobs meet code requirements
- Perform General Physical Activities-physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Move or lift heavy objects
Skills, Education & Personal Attributes
- Minimum two (2) years in construction and/or experience with electronic boards, controllers, PLC and/or hydraulic systems
- Driver’s license in good standing, clean police check, bondable
- Willing to travel and occasionally stay out of town for work
- Experience with basic power tools a must
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Professional conduct and ethical values-be courteous, polite and use good judgment when dealing with customers, other trades, colleagues and company policies
- Quality work, ensuring all items are checked and the elevator is running flawlessly on completion
- Valid fall protection certificate an asset
- Valid first aid certificate an asset
