Women’s Age Lab is the first and only centre of its kind, that is solely focused on improving the lives of older women by using science to transform care and practice, and drive health system and social change. An exciting temporary casual opportunity as a Research Assistant exists in the Women’s Age Lab reporting to Dr. Rachel Savage, Scientist. This role will support the activities of a program of research focused on studies related to loneliness and social isolation.
Summary of Duties, but not limited to:
Research Project Support
Assist in manuscript/abstract preparation and submission, grant and REB proposals
Aid in the preparation, administration, and collection of questionnaires to research participants or collaborators
Maintain research files to store, access, and retrieve study data as specified at one or more sites
Creating and maintenance of statistical databases
Analyzing and interpreting quantitative data through statistical analyses
Perform literature searches using PubMed, MEDLINE, or other health sciences databases, conduct quality appraisals and synthesize evidence. Enter and maintain citations in a citation management software (e.g., EndNote)
Assist with producing accurate and timely written material including data-based reports and presentations, manuscripts, summaries and syntheses of evidence, and conference abstracts
Support in-house research projects as assigned
As a role model and champion, you will work to identify and integrate safe, best practices into daily activities to foster the delivery of safe and exemplary care.

Qualifications
Successful completion of a University degree in healthcare related field
Experience in a research environment and/or academic hospital
Working knowledge of research terminology and methodology
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Well-developed writing skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, EndNote) and other research-related software for analysis (R, SAS, etc)
Well-developed time management skills
Highly detail orientated
Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently.
Ability to meet tight and fluid deadlines.
Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required
Exceptional organizational skills and customer relations
Excellent problem recognition and problem solving abilities
Professional behavior and communication that meets the standards of Women’s College Hospital
