This full-time role is central to shaping the strategy and execution of the Digital Retailing Solution (DRS), driving innovation, enhancing functionality, and integrating digital solutions into TCI’s business model to elevate customer experience (CX). Working closely with cross-functional teams and Dealer partners, the Consultant will strengthen the connection between digital platforms and in-dealership experiences across both brands. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Dealer partners, and enterprise stakeholders to shape product strategy, define ROI, and drive innovation across the Toyota and Lexus networks. Own the DRS product pathway, maintaining momentum, communicating progress, and ensuring alignment with Business Innovation’s principles, timelines, and milestones. Provide governance and leadership across key forums including the DRS Operating Committee and Dealer Task Force, facilitating productive engagement and capturing actionable insights. In addition to leading strategic initiatives, this role will also contribute to offering a forward-looking perspective on emerging innovation opportunities within the evolving retail landscape Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement Work with the Business DRS SME to support product development by ensuring the Technical PM receives clear and timely business feedback. Lead stakeholder engagement to build understanding, collaboration, and confidence in the product direction. Facilitate workshops and discussions with Toyota/Lexus Dealers, TCI, and TCCI to gather insights and refine product strategy. Run ideation sessions to propose new features and capabilities, presenting recommendations to leadership for approval. Product Pathway Ownership & Alignment Stay deeply familiar with the product strategy, roadmap, timelines, and milestones. Keep momentum and communicate progress, challenges, and roadblocks with project teams. Ensure the DRS product pathway aligns with BI’s vision, principles, and values. Work with other DRS product leads to share best practices, coordinate efforts, and drive efficiency across products. Governance & Leadership DRS Operating Committee: Lead and coordinate committee meetings in partnership with the Portfolio Manager, Technical Project Manager, and Business SME. Ensure discussions are productive and drive clear outcomes. Dealer Task Force: Serve as lead for the Dealer Task Force, ensuring clear communication and capturing valuable insights through structured pre-reads, focused meetings, and efficient use of the group’s time. Project Status Cards: Partner with the Technical PM to maintain transparent communication on DRS product progress, highlighting key challenges and roadblocks. Performance Analysis & Optimization Continuously assess DRS alignment with customer experience principles, conducting regular analysis to identify areas for improvement. Implement optimization strategies to enhance usability and overall performance. Act as a liaison between dealerships, customers, and internal stakeholders to understand evolving needs and challenges, ensuring digital solutions remain effective in the automotive retail ecosystem. What You’ll Bring: Bachelor’s degree in business, Strategy, Innovation Management, Engineering or related field Experience with retail innovation, retail strategic development, or related roles which have positively impacted the retail customer experience Automotive retail experience (retail or zone) is an asset Advanced strategic mindset with an entrepreneurial approach capability Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences via appropriate and engaging storytelling Extremely strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with all levels of the enterprise, including Dealers Ability to build trust and confidence towards specified outcomes Advanced planning and organizational experiences/skills that support leading multiple projects at one time and working collaboratively across groups to gain consensus Deadline-driven with an intimate understanding of the responsibilities, timelines and requirements Ability to travel occasionally (mainly within Canada or USA), if required Bilingual (English and French) an asset About Us Toyota Canada Inc. is the exclusive Canadian distributor of Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
