Your Opportunity at Arc’teryx:
As the Manager, Supply Planning, your team plays a key role in Arc’teryx’s
Sourcing team by developing, evaluating and optimizing seasonal finished goods
capacity and production plans across our finished goods supplier network. You
will leverage your expertise in supply chain planning, partnering with internal
and external stakeholders to ensure the supply plan is delivered on time in
full. You will support process improvement within Supply Planning and beyond,
improving the efficiency of the planning process with factories as well as with
cross-functional departments, including Merchandise Planning & Allocations, Raw
Material Planning, Sourcing, Product Development and Commercial teams. You will
own the capacity plan, partnering closely with cross-functional planning teams
to identify and mitigate gaps and opportunities in the balance of supply and
demand, and drive continuous evolution of process through the planning cycles.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid
remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
Meet Your Future Team:
As the Manager, Supply Planning you will lead a highly dynamic and collaborative
team of planners who are responsible for building finished goods capacity and
production plans that deliver to our growing omnichannel global business on time
and in full. You will partner with cross-functional planning teams and regional
Production Management teams to drive process improvement and on time performance
through the planning, procurement and reporting cycles.

If you were our Manager, Supply Planning now, here are some of the core
activities you would be doing:
- You build, develop and guide a team of problem solvers who translate supply
plan requirements into optimized and executable production plans that
effectively deliver service level objectives and reduce total Supply Chain
costs
- You manage the workload of the team to balance factory complexities, seasonal
volume, individual strengths, and career development
- You lead a high performing team achieving department KPI’s in a culture of
continuous improvement
- You own the finished goods capacity plan that ultimately delivers to the
supply plan on time and in full, continuously monitoring the plan for risks
and opportunities, and providing recommendations and alternatives to mitigate
gaps through the planning and procurement cycles
- You are responsible for maintaining healthy capacity utilization rates across
the supplier network that support business objectives and factory
partnerships
- You leverage your expertise in supply chain and mentor your planners in
managing relationships with manufacturers to drive optimal supplier
performance (growth, on-time delivery, quality, communication, and
flexibility) with a focus on long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships
- You maintain in depth knowledge of all factories and related processes to
provide guidance and supervision to individual planners
- You partner closely with regional Production Management teams to monitor
production in progress, translate impacts of production changes back to
cross-functional planning teams and coordinate production prioritization
- You collaborate with Sourcing and Global Supply Planning teams to develop and
maintain multi-year capacity plans for all manufacturers, providing insights
on factory allocation plans to ensure on-time delivery of seasonal supply
- You partner with Merchandise Planning & Allocations to support inventory
goals and objectives without comprising service levels
- You escalate pre and post buy issues to the appropriate global and regional
planning partners, including alternative opportunities and recommendations
for resolution
- You stay abreast of current economic and political events insofar as they
affect your supply chain, and develop an excellent understanding of the
supply chain for the finished goods across the supply network
- You continuously develop bench strength through development and maintenance
of departmental SOPs, training documents and coaching for success through
objective setting and performance management
- You lead the continuous growth and development of your team through your
ability to coach, mentor and provide clarity on department objectives and
performance
- You uphold Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles
of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain
- You work closely with the Amer Sports Global Sourcing Vendor Sustainability
team on quarterly business reviews and training/capacity building (at least
annually)
- You Adhere to negotiated lead times and balanced annual capacities to
expedite responsible purchasing practices as outlined in the Responsible
Sourcing Policy
Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
- Providing input to the design and implementation of planning and supplier
management systems
- Diving deep into our internal and external workflows and working with several
cross functional teams to inspire with shared goals for stronger partnerships
- Working with the Director, Supply Planning and other cross-functional leaders
on capacity planning improvements and optimization initiatives as they arise.
- Working closely with Raw Materials and Merchandise Planning teams on
strategies that leverage agility through our supplier network
- Working closely with external vendors to identify and develop flexible buying
options that support our vertical business objectives
Additional experience, education and/or skills:
- You have 7+ years’ experience in Supply Planning or equivalent Supply Chain
position, preferably in Apparel or relevant industry, with 3+ years of people
leadership experience
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in related field
- You have certifications in American Production and Inventory Control Society
(APICS) or Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or Project
management.
- You have proven people management skills; and demonstrate the desire to lead,
train and mentor individuals.
- You have strong communication and business presentation skills, ability to
effectively communicate to all levels of stakeholders
- You have solid knowledge of SAP and/or equivalent ERP/ Planning systems and
order management processes
- You are a self-starter, able to step in and take charge
- You are able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines
- You have advanced analytical skills with a strong aptitude for spreadsheets
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and exceptional
attention to detail
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing
solutions
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
- You are able to balance autonomy and collaboration
- You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement

$106,000 - $133,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD $106,000 - CAD $133,000 at the
time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors
such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not
include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
