The Granite Club is looking for a full time Skating Development Coach to support the development of Star to Competitive skaters and collaborate with coaches to deliver
exceptional programs that meet the needs and goals of the Club. This role will be key in bridging the gap between grassroots programming to a podium pathway.

Primary Responsibilities
Leadership/Coaching:
Establish a clear vision and pathway for Star to Competitive programs.
Support a dynamic coaching team, encouraging inclusion and cohesion to support the
structured development and progression of Granite Club Skaters.
Visibility and presence with coaches, skaters and Members across Star to Competitive
programming and lessons to establish trust and enable a transparent cycle of feedback for
ongoing improvement.
Collaborate with Competitive Head Coach, coaches, and off-ice instructors to align training
with athletic development.
Hiring of coaches that fit the Granite Culture and Skating Vision and Pathway.
Program Delivery
Plan and execute engaging events, including outreach activities, seminars, and competition
simulations.
Oversee assessment days, ensuring compliance with Skate Canada guidelines.
Work with Head Skating Professional and Competitive Head Coach to create and manage
on-ice and off-ice schedules for Star to Competitive programs.
Create a plan for skater progress, program planning and eligibility for advancement.
Create integration opportunities for new skaters to enter higher levels of
programming/training.
Ensure programs meet the requirements of Granite Club’s quality standards.
Administration:
Ensure clear and consistent communication with Members, coaches and skating office staff
through the Club’s channels of communication.
Assist with Granite Club’s Learn to Skate program – continually monitor groups and skaters
working on higher stages. Assist in educating parents on Athlete Development Pathways.
Participate in annual program planning meetings and provide input for the Activity and
Sport Programming Guide.
Recognize and celebrate Star to Competitive Skaters' achievements through club
communications such as TV screens, ESS newsletters, and bulletin boards.
Maintain records of Members skating progress and assessments to track development over
time.
Required Qualifications
Must be a Certified Skate Canada Provincial Coach (National preferred)
Registered Skate Canada Coach in good standing
Experience with leadership within Skating Club or organization
Good written and oral English skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work in strong collaboration with Coaches
Strong organizational and time management skills
Passion for athlete development and fostering a culture of excellence
Flexible and reliable with schedule
Proficient computer skills – Microsoft programs – excel, word, outlook
Current First Aid/CPR certification
