We are actively seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Professional Junior Engineer or Engineering Technologist to join our Lloydminster Conventional team. Based in our Calgary office, this role supports development planning and optimization by analyzing production, reserves, and economic data while collaborating closely with engineers, geologists, and other technical professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ValNav, reserves and accounting principles, and experience in oil & gas development. Occasional site/field visits will be required throughout the year to support development activities and gain field-level insights. The Successful Candidate Will: Support the development team in the evaluation and optimization of conventional heavy oil assets. Perform production and economic analyses using ValNav to assess current and future development opportunities. Collaborate with engineers and geologists to support the creation and execution of development plans. Assist in preparing long range plans, budget forecasts, execution schedules, and reserves documentation. Analyze operational and subsurface data to support performance reviews, decline analysis, and well lookbacks. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and summaries for internal stakeholders. Ensure accurate and timely updates to reserves, economic models, and development tracking systems. Support regulatory applications and internal reviews. Participate in periodic field/site visits to enhance technical understanding and support field planning. Qualifications Include: Proficient in ValNav (required), with strong economic and reserves understanding. Knowledge of oil & gas accounting principles and production data systems. Comfortable interpreting and working with geological, engineering, and operational data. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and VBA; experience with Tableau or other analytics tools is an asset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field locations as required. Education and Experience: Diploma or B.Sc. in Petroleum, Oil & Gas, or Geological Engineering Technology or a related field. Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally within conventional heavy oil development. Work Environment: Based at our head office in downtown Calgary.
