Position Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and customer-focused Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle of Acculogic’s flying probe system orders and drive our technology and product development roadmap. This hands-on role is pivotal to ensuring customer satisfaction, involving everything from initial technical discussions to final system acceptance and product introduction. You’ll collaborate closely with customers, sales teams, engineers, and production staff to deliver high-impact solutions. This position works out of our headquarters in Markham, Ontario and reports to our VP and General Manager. This critical role supports the Acculogic business which is housed in the Electronic Test division of inTEST Corporation. Travel expected between 10-20% both domestic and internationally, primarily in the US.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Project Management of Flying Probe System Orders and Technology/Product Roadmap Initiatives
Manage customer-driven projects from initial engagement during the sales process through final site acceptance.
Collaborate with customers, sales, engineering, and production to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
Manage internally generated and prioritized projects from the technology and product roadmap from inception to completion.
Implement and manage the phase gate new product development process.
Regularly report on and lead the management review of portfolio of projects in the technology and product development roadmap funnel.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules.
Ensure timely execution of all project phases including prototyping, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and delivery.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Partner with internal teams to align resources and ensure milestones are met.
Facilitate design reviews and technical documentation with engineering.
Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Customer & Stakeholder Communication
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide regular updates to business and corporate leadership on project status.
Factory & Site Acceptance Testing
Lead factory acceptance testing (FAT) and support customer site acceptance testing (SAT).
Ensure systems meet all performance, quality, and commercial requirements.
Supplier Engagement
Work with existing suppliers to improve quality and delivery performance.
Support procurement activities and assist in identifying new suppliers as needed.
Market & Application Insight
Attend trade shows and visit customer sites to represent Acculogic and enhance market knowledge.
Budget and Cost Management
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective execution.
Track expenditures and forecast financial needs throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
Identify potential project risks early and develop contingency plans.
Monitor risk factors and adjust plans proactively to avoid delays or cost overruns.
Compliance and Safety Oversight
Ensure all project activities comply with relevant safety standards, electrical codes, and regulatory requirements.
Promote a culture of safety across all phases of the project.
Documentation and Record Keeping
Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation for internal use and customer reference.
Archive technical specifications, test results, and acceptance reports.
Team Leadership and Mentorship
Provide guidance and support to junior engineers or project coordinators.
Foster collaboration and accountability across cross-functional teams.
Continuous Improvement
Analyze completed projects to identify lessons learned and areas for process improvement.
Recommend enhancements to project workflows, tools, or methodologies.
Requirements
Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in technical project management.
Strong understanding of hardware-based design and software technologies.
Proven ability to manage complex engineering projects and cross-functional teams.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Data-driven approach to problem solving and decision-making.
Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Self-motivated with a positive, solution-focused ‘can do’ attitude and strong communication skills
Team player who embraces innovation and continuous improvement
Project management designation (e.g., PMP) is an asset.
Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada and be able to travel as required.
