HAIR AND MAKEUP - THEATRE PRACTITIONER LEVEL 3

THE OPPORTUNITY
Banff Centre is looking for a Theatre Practitioner Level 3 - Hair and Makeup who
can work collaboratively to provide support for this fall's Indigenous Fashion
Runway Residency

performances.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist with hair and makeup for both live performance and video capture on
site.
- Assisting with fitting hair pieces and wigs for cast members.
- Assist with professional makeup application for performers.
QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Theatre Practitioner level 2: must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a
working practitioner in their discipline within a Theatre or Performing Arts
production environment
- Theatre practitioner level 3: must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a
working practitioner in their discipline within a Theatre or Performing Arts
production environment
- Has completed a formal theatre education
- Must have a working knowledge of the theories and practices that support this
discipline
- Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to stay calm under pressure
- Able to work with tight, changing timelines in a fast paced environment
- Knowledgeable of related industry trends including the application of up to
date techniques, and use of special materials and current health and safety
standards
- Able to apply of professional theatre techniques and methods to provide the
quality, efficiency and support level required by Performing Arts
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Due to the nature of the job, this position requires the candidate to be
available to work a flexible, irregular schedule and weekends.
