Your place in our story
The Product Development Coordinator manages consultants and suppliers, and liaises with internal and external stakeholders to drive customer value. This role ensures that optimized standards and continuous improvement strategies are implemented effectively. The Product Development coordinator contributes to the development of product strategy. This includes conducting new product research and managing consultants to design and implement assigned projects in alignment with the Business Plan, informed by market research and customer expectations. The role leads by example and actively promotes Minto’s core values of accomplishment, courage, partnership, and innovation.
Here’s how you’ll contribute
Product Design:
Assists with new product and material research for assigned residential low-rise and mid-rise projects, informed by market research and customer expectations.
Coordinates with consultants during procurement and production processes for assigned projects.
Supports the design development process for new projects, including organizing documentation for building typology, community visioning, product mix, and design from concept initiation to sales launch.
Prepares and maintains contract documents (drawings and specifications) to ensure continuity of design vision through tender, construction, and warranty processes.
Tracks and reports on project budgets and schedules as directed.
Assists with external consultant RFP and contract administration, including collecting monthly reports.
Reviews documents for consistency between design drawings, marketing/sales collateral, and contract documentation.
Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to support product improvements and optimize details and specifications to reduce construction complexity and cost.
Provides support for acquisition activities, including master planning, feasibility studies, and pro-forma preparation (budget and schedule).
Maintains the product library, including design and construction details and standards.
Participates in feasibility studies and special projects as required.
Fosters collaboration within the department and across functional groups.
Builds and maintains positive working relationships with peers and trades.

Collects and reports key metrics as directed.
Assists in identifying cost-effective alternatives to improve financial performance.

Education: College Diploma / University Degree in Architecture.
Experience: A minimum of seven (7+) years of previous professional experience in design development process for a residential builder and experience leading teams.
Specialized Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of the National Building Code, Ontario Building Code (OBC), Alberta Building Code, BC Building Code and other relevant regulations;
Knowledge of residential low-rise and mid-rise building systems/assemblies and construction methodologies;
AutoCAD, Microsoft Office (Project, BIM and Revit are an asset);
Excellent communication and collaboration skills;

Problem solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
